altimate.SHOWDOWN is a genre-spanning competition that unapologetically celebrates diversity and local performers, focusing on those who are different and uniquely fierce.
We are back for Season Three in 2025, ready to create even louder positive vibes with both new and familiar faces in the competition!
Performers from various underground performance arts—including Drag, Burlesque, Sideshow, Comedy, Music, Performance Art, Dance, and more—will battle for the title of Champion and a juicy grand prize. Champions from Season Two of both Naarm and Meanjin walked away with prize packs worth over $10,000 each, so stay tuned for this year's prizes.
The competition takes place over five nights in August and September at The Brightside in the heart of Fortitude Valley. Each event will be hosted and judged by local legends from Naarm’s fringe entertainment world:

We know you are ready to unleash EVEN MORE alternative star-power and we are so excited to see both new and familiar faces in the competition! Performers from all across the underground performance worlds of Drag, Burlesque, Sideshow, Comedy, Music, Performance Art, Dance entertainers (AND MORE!) will battle it out to earn the title of Champion and walk away with a juicy grand prize!
