Formerly the frontman of Hüsker Dü and Sugar, Bob Mould has successfully forged a solo career, cementing his status as a forefather of alternative rock. With 15 solo studio albums, he has explored a multitude of sounds, ranging from guitar-driven rock to electronic dance music. His music often tackles themes such as trauma, sexuality, and political upheaval, showcasing unmatched tenacity and passion.
Bob's career has been celebrated in various tributes, including the 2011 Walt Disney Concert Hall Tribute, which featured musicians such as Dave Grohl and Britt Daniel honoring his remarkable contributions to music.
Born in New York, Bob began his musical journey in the hardcore punk scene and founded the renowned Minneapolis punk band Hüsker Dü in 1979. The band's commercial success continued until their breakup in 1988. Bob launched his solo career with the album Workbook in 1989, which enjoyed 14 weeks on the charts, featuring the Top Ten modern rock hit "See A Little Light."
Subsequently, he formed Sugar in 1992, gaining significant recognition with the debut album Copper Blue. After the breakup of Sugar, he returned to solo work and has since toured extensively internationally, sharing stages with renowned acts such as the Foo Fighters and The Hold Steady.
