Emily Barker is an award-winning Australian singer-songwriter known for her work as the writer and performer of the theme for the acclaimed BBC/PBS Masterpiece crime drama Wallander, which starred Kenneth Branagh. Over the years, she has built an impressive catalogue of releases.
Barker's new album, Fragile as Humans, is set to be released on 3rd May. It was produced at the renowned English studio The Wool Hall by Luke Potashnick, who has worked with artists such as Gabrielle Aplin and Jack Savoretti. This marks her first album in nearly four years, following A Dark Murmuration of Words, which was praised by Uncut as “…a kind of Australian equivalent of PJ Harvey’s Let England Shake.”
In addition to her solo work, Barker has toured with various bands and collaborations, notably her long-standing relationship with Frank Turner. She has also contributed to TV and film projects, including composing the soundtrack for Jake Gavin’s acclaimed debut feature Hector, starring Peter Mullan and Keith Allen.
