Overview

One of Australia’s most loved and influential bands, the Hard-Ons, are celebrating 40 years of punk rock this October and November with a nationwide tour. They will be releasing new music, starting with the single "Buzz Buzz Buzz," available now on Cheersquad Records and Tapes. Additionally, a feature-length documentary titled The Most Australian Band Ever will premiere on October 16 at Sydney's SXSW festival.

In their early days, the Hard-Ons shared stages with iconic bands such as the Ramones and Nirvana, and they made multiple appearances at Big Day Out festivals. They achieved an impressive 17 consecutive number 1s on the Australian independent charts and, in 1989, became the only Australian band to reach the top 5 in the NME charts while still based in Australia. The band currently features core members Ray and Blackie, alongside drummer Murray and new frontman Tim Rogers of You Am I.

Over the years, the Hard-Ons have received vocal support from notable artists like Dave Grohl, AC/DC's Malcolm Young, and Jello Biafra. They have profoundly influenced generations of punk bands and a diverse array of Australian alternative artists, including You Am I, Spiderbait, Silverchair, Regurgitator, Magic Dirt, Powderfinger, the Dirty Three, and The Chats.
