Playing live with Screamfeeder at the Fortitude Music Hall, Hoodoo Gurus are celebrating 40 years since the release of their debut album, Stoneage Romeos, with a national tour. They will perform the album in its entirety, alongside all their hits.
Originally released in March 1984, Stoneage Romeos features iconic tracks such as Leilani, Tojo, My Girl, and I Want You Back. The album reached #29 on the Australian Album Chart and won Best Debut Album at the 1984 Countdown Awards. It has remained a staple on many Top 50 and Top 100 Australian album lists.
Dave Faulkner expressed enthusiasm for the tour, noting that many songs from Stoneage Romeos have remained live favorites. He plans to include "less-travelled" songs in their longer sets, creating a special experience for fans.
Since their formation in 1981, Hoodoo Gurus have achieved 10 x ARIA Top 20 albums and 9 x ARIA Top 40 singles, maintaining a significant presence in the live music scene and influencing new generations. A special 40th Anniversary vinyl set of Stoneage Romeos will be released on May 17, 2024, through Big Time Recordings via Universal Music Australia, with pre-orders available now.
