Anyone can improvise, and Big Fork Theatre's Improv Fundamentals is the perfect place to start! This six-week course introduces participants to Big Fork Theatre's approach to improvised comedy. No prior acting or improv experience is necessary.

In Improv Fundamentals, you will explore your creativity, build confidence, and have fun while developing basic improvisation skills. The course focuses on the foundational aspects of scenic improvisation and is part of the Improv Foundations program, a series of four workshop blocks aimed at teaching Big Fork's style of long-form improvisation. After completing all Improv Foundations, students can participate in the Advanced Study program.

Topics covered include: - "Yes, and" - Listening - Creating a character - Supporting your scene partner and performance - Object/environment work (mime) - Introductory long-form improvisation techniques

The course consists of six sessions, each lasting three hours. A graduation show concludes the course, and graduates are invited to join regular improv jams.
