The Qld Pops Orchestra (QPO) will perform at the Concert Hall for a special 40th Anniversary New Year's Eve Gala Concert, celebrating one of Brisbane’s beloved musical institutions. Chief Conductor Patrick Pickett CSM expresses pride in the QPO's 40-year legacy of thrilling concert-goers in Brisbane, promising an unforgettable night.

The concert will feature a tribute to Australian home-grown works, with didgeridoo virtuoso Chris Williams and award-winning soprano Nina Korbe, a rising talent in the opera industry. The internationally acclaimed Borealis String Quartet will also perform, known for their fiery performances and refined musical interpretation.

As part of the festivities, the traditional Scottish Piper Bruce Grice will usher in the New Year, marking the celebration's transition from the Concert Hall stage to the Lyric Foyer and beyond. Additionally, Warwick Adeney will return as Concertmaster for this special occasion, having played first violin during the Qld Pops' early days.

Before the festivities move from the Concert Hall stage to the Lyric Foyer, fireworks and beyond, no Queensland Pops concert would be complete without the traditional Scottish PiperBruce Griceushering in the New Year.
