English punk rock duo SOFT PLAY will perform Australian headline shows in January and February 2025. Following the release of their highly acclaimed LP ‘Heavy Jelly’ on July 19 this year, the band is ready to bring their uncompromising, full-throttle intensity to venues across Australia this summer.
With three UK Top Ten charting albums and their 2015 Mercury Prize nominated debut, SOFT PLAY (formerly known as SLAVES) has quickly established themselves as a significant force in the British rock scene. Their distinctive, unapologetic approach and dynamic live performances have garnered them a dedicated global fanbase, critical acclaim, and coveted festival appearances.
The band has received accolades from notable artists such as The Streets’ Mike Skinner and the Beastie Boys’ Mike D, won multiple NME Awards, and shared the stage with Skepta at Radio 1’s Big Weekend. They have also toured with prominent acts including The Prodigy, Kasabian, Jamie T, and Wolf Alice.
Recent performances at major festivals such as Glastonbury, Boardmasters, and Download Festival, along with their upcoming sold-out UK Tour, which includes Brixton Academy in London, demonstrate SOFT PLAY's increased power and mischievous humor since their return. As praised in a review from Louder Than War, their "raucous energy, sardonic humour, and unadulterated punk spirit" affirm that their comeback is not only welcome but essential.
