Sydney Dance Company makes a long-awaited return to Brisbane for its 2024 national tour with Twofold, a monumental double bill featuring the return of Rafael Bonachela’s beloved IMPERMENANCE alongside a new work, LOVE LOCK by renowned choreographer Melanie Lane, who brought the critically-acclaimed WOOF to the stage in 2019.
IMPERMENANCE is a visceral and thrilling exploration of the juxtaposition of beauty and devastation. It features an evocative score by Grammy Award-winning Bryce Dessner, performed live on stage by the Australian String Quartet.
LOVE LOCK questions what the future of Folk Dance looks like. This dance absorbs the complex fabric of our diverse cultures and addresses themes of an accelerating world and disappearing lands. Choreographed by Melanie Lane, LOVE LOCK is a re-imagined folk dance that draws upon these collective experiences, celebrating the binding act of dance to move, warn, and empower us.
