The beginning of our organization started with Angela Atkinson, our Director and heart and soul. In August 2011, Angela identified a need for a group dedicated to helping pets in Townsville and surrounding districts. This includes puppies and kittens that couldn't be properly cared for, pets needing re-homing due to family changes, as well as abandoned or lost animals.
After 13 years, the animal rescue network in Northern Queensland still faces challenges with the large number of homeless and unwanted animals. Our team works tirelessly every day to ensure that TFRA runs smoothly, providing every animal that comes through our doors with the best chance at life.
Our mission is to save dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies that cannot speak for themselves, while bringing joy to those who open their hearts to love these animals and give them forever homes.
Tickets include a 6-hour beverage package and a 3-course meal.

We now as a team spend every day working tirelessly to keep TFRA running smoothly and ensuring every animal that comes through our front doors get the best chance at life possible. Thus, our mission statement is as follows: to save our dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies that cannot speak and do not have the ability to save themselves, and by doing this, bring joy to people who find room in their hearts to love these animals and give them forever homes.
