Attention Australian punk rockers! Two of the most influential American punk rock bands are heading down under this November. Boston’s rock ‘n’ roll underdogs, DROPKICK MURPHYS, are set to embark on their first Australian headline tour in over a decade, alongside Chicago's rock icons, ALKALINE TRIO.
The tour kicks off at AEC Theatre in Adelaide on Friday, November 15, before moving to The Forum in Melbourne, Sydney's Roundhouse, and concluding at Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on Friday, November 22. This marks DROPKICK MURPHYS' return to Australia since their appearance at Good Things Festival in 2018 and ALKALINE TRIO's first shows in Australia in 10 years!
Since 1996, DROPKICK MURPHYS have been delivering music meant for chanting in packed arenas and celebrating victories. Their discography includes multiple Billboard top 10 albums, with hits like “I’m Shipping Up To Boston” from their Certified-Gold album, The Warrior’s Code. With over half a billion streams and more than 8 million units sold worldwide, they have a solid international presence and have returned to fully electric performances following a series of acoustic albums.
ALKALINE TRIO, with over 25 years in music, are known for their urgent punk sound combined with dark themes. They gained mainstream popularity with the 2003 album Good Mourning and achieved chart-topping success with This Addiction in 2010. Their tenth album, Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs, released earlier this year, reflects a return to the sonic roots that captured the hearts of punk fans.
