Overview

The Taxpayers are a long-running experimental DIY genre-bending punk band that started in Portland, Oregon in 2007. After an eight-year hiatus, they have made a dream comeback in 2024, selling out shows across the USA and seeing their Spotify monthly listeners jump from 500k to 1 million. They will cap off this stellar year with their first-ever international tour in Australia.

Their acclaimed 2012 concept album, "God, Forgive These Bastards," about the rise and fall of a fictional baseball player, is widely considered one of the best albums of the year. It features the song "I Love You Like An Alcoholic" and was even adapted into a musical stage production.

The Australian tour will begin with solo shows in Brisbane/Meanjin by Rob Taxpayer, followed by the rest of the band joining for performances in the southeastern corner.
