The Collection Online team has been busy photographing thousands of artworks as part of QAGOMA’s Digital Transformation Initiative, making the Collection available and accessible to people everywhere in unprecedented detail. With dedicated conservators, registrars, technologists, and photographers, this project has enabled a deep exploration of Collection Storage to uncover and care for artworks that have not been displayed in decades.
This exhibition showcases a small selection of our team's favorite discoveries – the weird and whimsical, the cute and curious. We extend our gratitude to the hundreds of donors who generously supported the QAGOMA Foundation’s ‘Unlock the Collection’ campaign to digitize the Collection, enhancing the accessibility and discoverability of this diverse range of artworks, from small figures to small frogs.
